EDIT DECISION LIST (EDL)

EDL is a list of data produced by an electronic editing system. This list contains information which identifies the location of source material and builds the edited master. CMX 3600 has become the accepted standard.

EMPHASIS

For Digital Betacam VTRs, emphasizing a digital audio signal while recording, then de-emphasizing it during playback suppresses the high frequency noise caused by A/D and D/A conversions. FinalÈ's standard is Emphasis "Off" for recordings.
