PIXEL

The smallest controllable element of an image or display screen. Pixel is derived from "Picture Element".

PROGRESSIVE SCAN

Method of scanning lines down a screen - as is commonly used with computers - where all the lines of a picture are displayed in one vertical scan. There are no fields or half pictures as with interlace scans.

PROTECTION COPY

Duplicate of the edited master reel, kept as a backup in case the master is damaged.
